Job Description
Under the Assurance umbrella, the Risk Assurance practice encompasses solutions that are driven by dynamic global markets which require companies to take actions to successfully address business risks and opportunities. Our professionals work across sectors and develop deep competencies which allow them to advise both audit and non-audit clients. PwC has more than 3,700 Risk Assurance professionals in the US who are responsible for delivering quality audits, advising companies about how to solve complex problems and also take advantage of new business opportunities.

The Risk Assurance Advanced Risk & Compliance Analytics (ARCA) practice consists of 500+ data and analytics consultants and is one of the most innovative and fastest growing solution areas in PwC. The team delivers data-centric projects that help our Audit and Non-Audit clients convert data into meaningful insights that allow them to detect, monitor and predict risk, translate complex findings into business narrative, report accurate and complete results and make better decisions using analytics and visualization.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 0

Minimum Academic Requirements: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Accounting, Finance/Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics Mathematics, Regulatory Compliance, Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics and/or other business field of study.
Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.3
Preferred Major GPA: 3.3.
Eligible students should be in the 3rd year of a 4 yr degree program or in the 4th year of a 5 yr program.
Client service interns typically join us during the winter/spring or summer prior to their intended graduation year.

Certification(s) Preferred: Before starting with PwC full time, will be eligible to sit for the primary credential exam appropriate for the appropriate practice area, such as having 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam in certain states.

Job Duties:

Demonstrates knowledge and abilities to perform as a first-year ARCA Intern, which includes the following areas:
- Involvement in a diverse array of projects and attendance at training courses to develop technical and interpersonal acumen to enhance overall knowledge and build client relationship skills;
- Development of an awareness of firm services, building solid relationships with clients, approaching clients in an organized and knowledgeable manner, and delivering clear requests for information;
- Cultivation of teamwork through working as a team member: understanding personal/team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with a team; and proactively seeking guidance and feedback;
- Flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor;
- Ability to learn about information management, data quality, data governance and project management; technical accounting: how to analyze data using accounting principles and accounting applications; and new technology such as: SQL programming; data manipulation and analysis technologies (eg Microsoft SQL Server, ACL, Access/Excel, Visual Basic, R, Python) and Visualization tools (eg Spotfire, Qlikview, and Tableau); and,
- Ability to learn how to design, evaluate and implement data models using data mining techniques; understand business intelligence and relational database concepts; understand big data objectives, concepts and technologies such as Hadoop.

- Identifying and incorporating new tools and creative techniques in data analysis using tools such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS, SQL, Stata and building data visualization dashboards (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, Qlikview);
- Interest and knowledge of descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, machine learning principles;
- Preparing memoranda and/or reports that communicate research and recommendations concisely and effectively with an orientation toward business communication and grammar;
- Interacting with various levels of a client and the firm; and,
- Exhibiting flexibility and desire to travel, as client assignments require.
