Job Description
The Financial Markets group is a cross functional team with industry specialties to provide a broad array of tax, accounting, and financial services to the securitization, structured product, fixed income, and real estate industries.

The tax practice focuses on all aspects of these industries and provides tax consulting, compliance, and technology services to all market participants including hedge funds, mutual funds, banks, investment banks,


Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 0

Minimum Academic Requirements: Pursuing a Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting or a Juris Doctorate
Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.3
Preferred Major GPA: 3.3.
Eligible students should be in the 3rd year of a 4 yr degree program or in the 4th year of a 5 yr program.
Client service interns typically join us during the winter/spring or summer prior to their intended graduation year.

Certification(s) Preferred: Before starting with PwC full time, will be eligible to sit for the primary credential exam appropriate for the appropriate practice area, such as having 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam in certain states.

Job Duties:
Play a role as an intern on PwC's Financial Markets team as they provide services to clients. Participate in select phases of Financial Markets client service work, supporting a team who are:
- researching tax issues and following tax legislative events
- assisting in the structuring of financial instruments
- consulting on tax operations and processes
- preparing tax returns with respect to finance companies, fixed income securities, and structured transactions and market participants
- developing and implementing comprehensive tax system solutions for complex financial products
- tax modeling of complex financial assets, such as mortgage backed securities and derivatives
- Participate in select projects; demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative. Cultivate teamwork dynamics through working as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; and proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback. Flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; and communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor.

Job Requirements:
Demonstrates an interest in taxation, financial products and markets and the desire to pursue a career in professional services, including some proven success with the following abilities:
- Creative and innovative problem-solving, as well as prioritizing and handling multiple tasks.
- Interaction with various levels of client and firm management in both written and verbal form.
- Self-motivation, taking responsibility for personal growth and development.
