Job Description
The Assurance Innovation group is developing capabilities leveraging the latest in Open Source technologies to automate and accelerate our client engagements across the enterprise. We are focused on incorporating the latest in machine learning, Big Data, NoSQL, cutting edge development languages, and advanced data processing techniques to include structured and unstructured information in a loosely coupled ecosystem delivering a technology platform that positions PwC for the future.

Software engineers work closely with other developers to build new features, fix bugs and assist in testing across multiple capabilities while learning and exploring new technologies. Every day our team:

- Works with various data stores to include SQL, NO-SQL and distributed filesystem storage;
- Develops and integrate capabilities across APIs with back-end services written in one or more languages, e.g. Java, Scala, REST, etc.;
- Supports development of user web applications written in the latest Javascript technologies; and,
- Experiments with Big Data tools and open source technologies as well as research 3rd party technologies.

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 0

Minimum Academic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, software engineering, computer programming, engineering, mathematics or a related degree.

Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.3
Preferred Major GPA: 3.3

Client service associate positions are entry-level and job seekers are typically in the final academic year of completing their educational requirements or have graduated.

Degree Preferred: Master's degree in computer science, computer information systems, software engineering, computer programming, engineering, mathematics or a related degree.

Job Duties:

Job Requirements:

Demonstrates some abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

- Utilizing Full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Java, or Scala into projects to include object oriented design, continuous integration and standard development environment tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, Databases and Representational State Transfer (REST) services, Web application architecture and technologies, and Linux OS;

- Conducting pattern matching, regex creation and approaches to decomposing unstructured text, problem solving and learning new tools and technologies quickly and developing test plans, test cases and code automated test scripts which can be integrated with Continuous Integration (CI) processes; and,

- Utilizing advanced problem solving skills in projects and prioritizing and handling multiple tasks.
