PricewaterhouseCoopers' Core Assurance group organizes around industries to share the latest research and points of view on emerging industry trends, develop industry-specific performance benchmarks based upon global best practices, and share methodologies and approaches in complex areas such as financial instruments and tax provisioning. In addition, our network is available to collaborate on accounting or technical issues unique to a particular industry, especially when interpretive guidance is needed.
Members of our core assurance group provide independent assurance to clients on the financial performance of their businesses and the internal controls that govern their financial information. Our audit teams ask the tough questions and tackle the tough issues to produce financial statements that investors and the investing community can trust. Services provided include our core financial statement and internal control audits; plan audits; business and performance reporting; and social, environmental and other compliance reviews.
The Risk Assurance practice will employ individuals for strategic projects or "busy season" assistance to meet client demands.

These individuals are not eligible for the standard internship programs.

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 0

Minimum Academic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems

Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.3
Preferred Major GPA: 3.3

Eligible students should be in the 3rd year of a 4 yr degree program or in the 4th year of a 5yr program. Client service interns typically join us during the winter/spring or summer prior to their intended graduation year.


Degree Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems


Job Duties:
Play a role as a seasonal in PwC's Business Advisory Services Market Information & Data Analytics (MIDA) group working with other MIDA software developers on development of MIDA proprietary applications to be used by various PwC audit engagement teams as well as other groups within the firm. Participate in a wide range of projects relating to audit technology tools development and testing; demonstrate creative thinking and individual initiative; cultivate teamwork dynamics through working as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; and proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback; demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks and communicating potential conflicts to team leader; identify and address software user needs: build solid relationships with users; develop an awareness of Firm and MIDA services; approach internal clients in an organized and knowledgeable manner; deliver clear requests for information.


Job Requirements:
Demonstrate some abilities and/or a proven record of successfully prioritizing assigned tasks and working simultaneously on multiple priorities in order to meet project deadlines. Demonstrate some abilities and/or a proven record of success interacting effectively in both written and verbal form. Demonstrate some abilities and/or a proven record of success self-motivating and taking responsibility for personal growth and development. A basic knowledge of and some experience with:
- Application development with multi-tier architectures using C#, ASP.NET, Winforms with .NET Framework 3.5/4.0.
- Object Oriented software design and architecture using best practice (from Microsoft), design patterns and software framework development.
- SQL Server (2005/2008) with other DB objects such as stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, SSRS, etc.
- Some experience using team collaboration tools/source control programs, preferably Team Foundation Server.
- Some experience with WPF, WCF and LINQ with .NET Framework 4.0 is preferred.
- Basic financial industry knowledge and some experience with market data are preferred.
- Some experience with MS Sync Framework is preferred.
- Some experience working with offshore team(s) is preferred. The MIDA practice will employ individuals for strategic projects or "busy season" assistance to meet client demands.
