PricewaterhouseCoopers' Core Assurance group organizes around industries to share the latest research and points of view on emerging industry trends, develop industry-specific performance benchmarks based upon global best practices, and share methodologies and approaches in complex areas such as financial instruments and tax provisioning. In addition, our network is available to collaborate on accounting or technical issues unique to a particular industry, especially when interpretive guidance is needed.
Members of our core assurance group provide independent assurance to clients on the financial performance of their businesses and the internal controls that govern their financial information. Our audit teams ask the tough questions and tackle the tough issues to produce financial statements that investors and the investing community can trust. Services provided include our core financial statement and internal control audits; plan audits; business and performance reporting; and social, environmental and other compliance reviews.
The Risk Assurance IAS/PA practice will employ individuals for strategic projects or "busy season" assistance to meet client demands.

These individuals are not eligible for the standard internship programs.

They may be considered for other PwC employment opportunities, but must apply for posted opportunities and be selected through the firm's standardized selection process.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 0

Minimum Academic Requirements: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance (with coursework in Computer Science or MIS preferred); or a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or MIS (with course work in Accounting preferred)
Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.3
Preferred Major GPA: 3.3.
Eligible students should be in the 3rd year of a 4 yr degree program or in the 4th year of a 5 yr program.
Client service interns typically join us during the winter/spring or summer prior to their intended graduation year.


Certification(s) Preferred: Before starting with PwC full time, will be eligible to sit for the primary credential exam appropriate for the appropriate practice area, such as having 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam in certain states.


Job Duties:
Interest in the broad range of risks affecting companies & management decision making, complex IT environments and/or interest in all aspects of auditing. Experience demonstrating strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Ability to interact with various levels of client and firm management in both written and verbal form. Flexibility and desire to travel, as client assignments require. A basic understanding of one or more of the following: application controls, IT general controls, financial reporting concepts and the internal and/or external audit process. Ability to self-motivate and take responsibility for personal growth and development.


Job Requirements:
This individual will play a role supporting teams who assist with the development of risk assessments and audit plans; assisting in the execution of internal controls, internal and external audit support fieldwork or Sarbanes-Oxley. Selected individuals must be able to demonstrate some skills within the following areas:
