Job Description
The US Actuarial Services (AS) team consists of 175 credentialed life, health and non-life actuaries. We provide advice and consulting services to life and health insurers, non-life insurers, reinsurers, captives, banks, third-party administrators, regulators, agents and brokers, and bureaus and associations. We have extensive experience serving the domestic and international insurance industry, and assist insurers with actuarial modernization, process improvement, risk and capital management, value analyses, deals, and financial reporting.

Opportunities for interns exist in the Property & Casualty and Life insurance segments of our AS practice.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 0

Minimum Academic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, finance, economics, mathematics, accounting or similar quantitative disciplines
Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.3
Preferred Major GPA: 3.3
Client service associate positions are entry-level and job seekers are typically in the final academic year of completing their educational requirements or have graduated.


Certification(s) Preferred: The completion of two exams is preferred.


Job Duties:
Play an integral role as a professional in PwC's core actuarial and insurance services provided to clients.
- Participate in providing clients advice and counsel in the areas of process improvement, risk and capital management, value analyses and actuarial and quantitative modeling;
- Participate in a wide range of projects; consistently demonstrate creative thinking and individual initiative;
- Consistently demonstrate teamwork dynamics through working as a team member: understand personal and team roles; contribute to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seek guidance, clarification and feedback; and, provide guidance, clarification and feedback to less experienced team members; and,
- Identify and address client needs: build solid relationships with clients; develop an awareness of firm services; approach clients in an organized and knowledgeable manner; deliver clear requests for information; and demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.


Job Requirements:
A solid understanding of actuarial science, applied statistics, risk and capital management, value analyses, and financial reporting standards, including in the following areas:
- Demonstrated ability to research and analyze pertinent client, industry, and technical matters;
- Experience demonstrating strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
- Ability to interact with various levels of client and firm management through both written and verbal communications; and,
- Ability to self-motivate and take responsibility for personal growth and development.
