Within Tax the National Tax Services (NTS) practice has specialists with extensive experience in a variety of federal tax issues, including a strong concentration in the areas of accounting methods and inventories. NTS supports all of the National Markets and Services business units of PwC, as well as its own client base.

It is recognized as the premiere national Tax practice among the Big Four.

Specifically, NTS provides the following services:

- Tax-related technical, policy and planning expertise to major multinational corporations

- Monitoring and analysis of legislative and regulatory tax developments

- Strategy development in anticipation of tax law changes and regulatory developments

- Analysis of the economic impact of tax legislation and federal budget proposals

- Audit planning and settlement of disputes with the IRS, including expedited refunds

- High-value tax advice and strategic planning ideas for clients

- Inventory and accounting methods consulting

- Consultations in the area of transaction structuring, including pass-through entities

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 0

Minimum Academic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.3
Preferred Major GPA: 3.3
Client service associate positions are entry-level and job seekers are typically in the final academic year of completing their educational requirements or have graduated.


Degree Preferred: Master's degree in Accountancy or Taxation


Certification(s) Preferred: Before starting at PwC, will be eligible to sit for the primary credential exam appropriate for relevant practice area, such as having 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam in certain states.


Job Duties:
Play an integral role as a professional in PwC's National Tax Services practice. Identify and address client needs: build solid relationships with clients; develop an awareness of Firm services; approach clients in an organized and knowledgeable manner; deliver clear requests for information; and demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks. Participate in all phases of the tax consulting and compliance engagements, including planning, execution and completion. Research tax laws, rules and regulations and analyze their application to specific situations. Participate in a wide range of projects; consistently demonstrate creative thinking and individual initiative. Consistently demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment: understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; and proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback.


Job Requirements:
A solid understanding of tax compliance and consulting services, including planning, strategy and execution. General knowledge of federal and state tax laws. Demonstrated ability to research and analyze tax laws, rules and regulations and to analyze pertinent client, industry, and technical matters. Experience demonstrating strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Ability to interact with various levels of client and firm management through both written and verbal communications. Demonstrated self-motivation and has a desire to take responsibility for personal growth and career development.
